Marie reached out to Jillian Joy to create a modern and romantic Filipiniana dress to represent her heritage on their special day. She decided on a light and airy feel to the dress with a sweetheart neckline, open cowl back, and slim fit skirt with a slight flare. We also added sheer leafy Filipiniana butterfly sleeves as well as a chic slit.

“Designing a custom Terno Wedding Dress with Jillian Joy was a dream come true: I started following Jillian Joy’s iG account after I saw her Terno dress she wore at a Ternocon in the Philippines a few years ago & saw her 2018 Filipiniana Iglesia Wedding Collection. I was mesmerized by her talents & ability to blend Filipino fashion with a modern twist. I wasn’t even engaged at the time but I always knew that when the time came, I would ask her to help me design my dream wedding dress. Soon after, I was engaged to be married to the love of my life Kevin, & I had told him that I would be reaching out to a young Filipina/Canadian designer to help me with my very own custom Terno Wedding dress & I was so happy with the end product =) After several months of emails & last minute unanticipated changes, Jillian delivered the most elegant ivory dress with leaf patterned Terno sleeves to signify my love of nature. Together we found the perfect fabrics via mail & I never had to fly to Canada for my fitting. Jillian had me get my measurements at a tailor then send them over to her. It was such an easy process. Maraming Salamat to Jillian Joy for trusting me in my fashion choices & for believing in me when we had to change up the terno sleeve design last minute!
